About Us

We are an vertical aquaponic[1] farm located in Bratislava (Petržalka), Slovakia. Our goal is to provide fresh produce in the city, where people have limited access to high quality food.

Our mission

Our main idea was that food should be grown locally, using the most sustainable way. We are doing exactly this.

Why we are different

We are different because we save 95% water and grow ecologicaly.

The technology we use, allows us to be very gentle to our planet and provide the freshest produce the city has to offer. Read below how are we able to achive this.

What is Aquaponics

The Aquaponics[1] food production system is a unique, synergistic growing technique in which fish and plants are grown together. When implemented on a commercial scale, Aquaponic harvest has a niche market position, delivering chemical free, tank reared, low stress fish and 100% true organic crop produce.

Why Aquaponics is Better than Organic

There is no cheating on this with aquaponics, because we can’t use any chemical pesticides, herbicide or fertilizer of any kind or our fish would die, period.

Grow more

Our proprietary system grows up to ten times more vegetables and crops in the same amount of space and time!

Save water

Aquaponics uses 95% less water than conventional farming methods.

Unlimited possibilities

With our system, we can grow any time of year, in any weather, anywhere on the planet.

No pesticides

Less pests to deal with since we are growing indoors. We guarantee to be free from chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and other chemicals.

Excellent taste

Our vegetables have much deeper and richer taste profiles compared to ones selled in supermarkets.

How it works

Fish excrete Ammonia

Fish produce amonium by breathing and also from the their food.

Ammonia converted to Nitrite

Friendly bacteria strart to produce NO2.

Nitrites converted to Nitrates

After sufficient production of NO2 another type of bacteria start to produce NO3.

Plants absorb Nitrates

Plants use the Nitrites (NO3) for their rampant growth.

We produce / grow

We put extra focus on quality so that's why all our plants are grown from organic seeds. Plants have everything they need to grow into the best tasting produce available.

Microgreens are nutrient and flavor packed mini versions of full grown vegetables.

Microgreens are essentially seedlings of edible vegetables and herbs.

Their vibrancy and delicateness make for an obvious choice in terms of visual appeal, giving dishes that necessary pop. But these pretty little things are also, though miniscule in size, concentrated in nutrients[2].

Studies[3] have shown that microgreens are loaded with nutrients, such vitamins, C, E, and K, lutein, and beta-carotene, 40 fold than the mature leaves of the same plants.
